Wednesday training days are often strenous and challenging- hills, speed etc.
Today we routed up to the Track at Great Hill for speed training- which involved a warm up mile there and back. We'd have speed lap runs up on the track.
My right calf has been super tight all day and my knee was starting to hurt so I was a little nervous but decided to find a pace that worked and felt good and roll with it...
So- the drill was - 2 fast, 1 slow, 4 times. Confused yet? 3 laps, 4 rounds. First 2 would be threshold pace (75-80 pct of ur mile pace, aka faster than norm) and then recovery jog for the 3rd. About 12 laps total.
Our Coach is this elderly lady Mary that could run you ragged - she had us all trailing her! I promise you she's gotta be 70+. (She's dope, she knows it.)

The first time around definitely felt rough, like we were running way too fast. I learned about pacing quick when I did San Fran as starting off too fast meant I'd end up with chest pains and a hard time breathing.
Coming back down felt like it took way longer than the way up, but we also ran downhill prior to hill and then up on the way back.
Not ever an easy feat, but as you keep doing it, you somehow tend to get better.
So...
I ran my miles...Did you hit the donate button yet? $100 a day campaign still going strong!! :)
